Tohoku Pacific Earthquake & Tsunami Relief

It has been almost eleven months since the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred off the coast of Japan, on March 11, 2011. We at the Harmony For Peace Foundation would like to express our deepest sympathies to our friends in Japan, in particular, to those who have lost family and friends.

It is confirmed that more than 15,800 deaths and 5,800 injuries resulted from the tsunami and earthquake, as well as 3,300 people missing across 18 prefectures. Over 125,000 buildings were damaged or destroyed. Extensive infrastructural damage spread through railways, roads and many other structures including dams. As one of the major crisis of historical magnitude in Japan, 4.4 million households in northeastern Japan were without electricity and 1.5 million without water.
After almost a year passed, many structural repairs were made and the people of the Tohoku district are trying very hard to restore and recover from the disaster. Here are some incredible heartwarming videos, photos and links that we would like to share. In addition, some links of the organizations and groups which continue to make an effort in helping Japan rebuild.
Through our Relief Fund, we continue to collect donations that will directly benefit the victims of this natural disaster. Please click here to make a donation through our foundation. All funds collected will go directly to support the victims and will be solely used for that purpose.
Alternatively, funds are being collected through The American Red Cross and Japan Red Cross Society.
Last year, we held very successful Benefit Concerts in the Greater Philadelphia area on May 7th, as well as in New York City from June 3rd - 5th. Please click here for more details.
Thank you for your thoughts, prayers and support.
