Tohoku Pacific Earthquake & Tsunami Relief

Over three years has passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred off the coast of Japan, on March 11, 2011. We at the Harmony For Peace Foundation expresses our deepest sympathies to our friends in Japan, in particular, to those who have lost family and friends, and we pray for their continued work on recovering and restoring from the disaster.

It is confirmed that more than 18,500 deaths and 6,100 injuries resulted from the tsunami and earthquake across 20 prefectures.  Over 125,000 buildings were damaged or destroyed. Extensive infrastructural damage spread through railways, roads and many other structures including dams. As one of the major crisis of historical magnitude in Japan, 4.4 million households in northeastern Japan were affected loosing electricity and 1.5 million without water, many are still in the temporary housing and without jobs.
